About to become ASOG alumnist
« on: February 09, 2006, 03:23:06 AM »

Looks like I might be parting ways with my $ebring. I have been looking for an Acura TSX, and I found a fairly nice deal on a lease for the 2006. I test drove it today and didn't want to give it back to the dealer!

The only way that the deal will fall through is if they don't give me enough for the 'bring. I know she has the "low idle" problem, but hell, the Chrysler dealer can't find it, so the Acura dealer shouldn't either! Other than that, she's in good shape, with only 65k. What is a reasonable price to start negotiations with? I was thinking about 6500, but not accepting anything less than 5500. Any comments?

I think you should check the trade in value on kbb. I ran a quick check and excellent condition is about 4900. A starting asking price is never too high b/c they can only say no, it'll never hurt. I'd accept 4700 or more. Thats the only thing different I'd do.

You think about taking it to carmax to sell it? You dont have to buy from them to sell it to them and they usually give a decent deal.

Dealers will dick you with a trade in.  Dealers are dicks.  (most anyway).  I'd sell it privately and go to the dealer with the cash as a down payment.  You'll get more money for it that way.  My sister (stereotypical girl) went in with her 95 maxima, in mint condition 109k miles and no problems.  Infact she just stuck a grand into it for me to fix up the engine, basic overhaul with a bottom end rebuild.  The dealer gave her 500 dollars trade in.  And said he couldn't give her anymore.  She took it.

Mod List.  Um WAY too many to fit on here.  But the engine can handle about 800HP
