non-working signals and horn
« on: January 29, 2007, 02:38:48 AM »

Both turn signals and horn are not working at all!  Hazard lights are ok, brake lights are ok, all the other controls on the steering column are ok.  I have checked the fuses and they are ok.  Does anyone know what the heck is going on here? Huh

Under the dash fuses and under the hood?

What happens when you turn on your blinker?  Does it just stay steady or nothing at all?

I have just discovered a post where dvenge was having the same problem.  It seems that the power for the turn signals is routed through the blinker switch when its off.  He said he just wiggled it a bit and the signals worked again.  No one ever said if the horn worked again too.   ??  If anyone remembers, or if you see this dvenge please let me know whats up.  Thanks!

Haha. I was gonna post here sooner. Glad I could help  Grin

Horn still doesn't work an occasionally I have to take off that bezel and futz with the wire.  Doesn't matter to me anymore because today she officially goes on sale.  Good luck with your problems.

alright, thanks!  I was messing with that switch yesterday and I couldn't get anything to happen.  Then I decided to inspect the fuses personally (the last owner said they were ok and I haven't done anything with the electrical system since).....I found a toasted 10 amp fuse.  I would know what its to, but the last owner managed to lose the box cover.....  Maybe the fuse blow becuase of something having to do with that switch....who knows....

Might have a buyer for you Ed.  What are you trying to get for it.  And what are all the details?  I don't remember crap about your car.

Miles
Manual/Auto
Extras.

that kind of Crap.

Bah I just noticed you have the Six and all the extras are listed.  I'll ask the guy, but he wants a four.

Appriecate the effort Dark. You've been PM'ed

Enemytoast: Do you need a pic of the diagram on the fuse box cover?  If you need any help feel free to post or pm.  If you want I can PM you my phone number too.  It happened to me again just a few weeks back and I just pushed in the hazzard button with some force then pushed it again to cancel them and signals came back.

If you need anything let me know.

If you could post a diagram that would be great.  I'll be going out today to replace that fuse and check things out again.  I have a haynes manual, but I've decided its good for toilet paper maybe.  Thanks alot for the help!

Well, the fuse I discovered as being toasted was inside, and it turned out to be the cig lighter.  I couldn't do anything with the hazard switch, but a new one at autozone was 16 bucks, and Ill have it this friday.  Thanks for the help.

btw, I finally went out to the scrap yard and got the fuse cover Roll Eyes.
