I had a close call with a tornado yesterday. It went within about 100 yards of my house. Luckily, it was an F-0 or F-1. It made a hell of a lot of noise, but really didn't damage anything.

This isn't my first run-in either. I chased 2 tornadoes in the past  Grin

That rules I love tornados and stuff like that.  I don't have any memory of it, but my parents told me of a time when I was in a closet with them and they were making shadow puppets to distract me.  There were twelve buildings in our townhouse community and seven of them were destroyed.  Mine was ok.

I'm fascinated by them... I don't want to be IN one but i like looking at them... as long as they aren't crushing houses and what not.

yeah, I agree with Dan.  Very cool as long as they aren't causing too much damage.  Twister was cool on the big screen..lol

I like them when they are in someone else's neighborhood!

They are definately a sight to see (from a distance!)

While we here in the NorthEast don't get a lot of tornados (maybe one a year?) We certainly can build buildings to withstand them

Tornado came through Westchester county, a populated dense area, and while it closed highways b/c of tons of downed trees, there were no deaths, I think injuries were under like 10 or 20, and the worst building to get hit was a warehouse which had it's walls torn off but no other damage I know of.
